The Business Incubator of Wiraraja University introduces Abstract Batik as a new style of batik painting, inspired by acrobatic painting and abstract expressionism, emphasizing the composition of lines, patterns, and specific colors. The Wiraraja University Business Incubator seeks to attract students' interest by organizing a training session on making abstract batik T-shirts.
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, this training was held to explore students' potential so they could develop it into personal businesses, which is the main objective of the Wiraraja University Business Incubator. "We organize this training so that students can enhance their skills and seize business opportunities," said Nur Doddy Zakky, a mentor at the business incubator for abstract batik T-shirt making. "Students can start their own businesses, especially since Sumenep has the potential to be a great market, given the high number of tourists."
Nita, a management student who participated in the training, expressed her enthusiasm and appreciation: "I want to learn so that I can develop good soft skills, and who knows, I might be fortunate enough to open my own batik boutique."
The abstract batik training resulted in several abstract batik T-shirts ready to be exhibited at school fairs and marketed online through Janitra or the Unija student business unit.
